Think you're doing yourself a favor by buying those 100 calorie packs?

Study: Mini portions make us eat more

In theory, buying mini-packages of food should help us eat less.

But these cute little versions might actually have the opposite effect because it's hard to limit consumption, according a study in the Journal of Consumer Research.

We are getting fatter as a society!

1 in 4 adults now obese: new CDC data

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports today that the number of adults who say they’re obese jumped 2 percent between 2005 and 2007.

That means one in every four adults in the U.S. is now obese. (25.6 percent in 2007 vs. 23.9 percent in 2005). And that doesn’t include people who are overweight.

Interesting article about caffeine and exercise:

Post-exercise Caffeine Helps Muscles Refuel

Glycogen, the muscle's primary fuel source during exercise, is replenished more rapidly when athletes ingest both carbohydrate and caffeine following exhaustive exercise, new research shows. Athletes who ingested caffeine with carbohydrate had 66% more glycogen in their muscles four hours after finishing intense, glycogen-depleting exercise, compared to when they consumed carbohydrate alone, according to the study.

I'm currently using the Body For Life program talked about in the book of the same name. I lost 40 lbs using the system last year, so I know it works. Unfortunately I stopped using it during some tough times that came up, and gained 20 lbs back.

I'm now back on the program, and plan to lose another 35 lbs.

Has anyone else used this program, and how did it work for you?
